Small point, useful one. The company is On, a Swiss brand founded in 2010 by former professional triathlete Olivier Bernhard with David Allemann and Caspar Coppetti. Cloud is the name of its flagship shoe, and it became so recognisable that most people now say On Cloud as though it were the company name.
So when you see On, On Running, and On Cloud used interchangeably, they all point to the same Swiss brand. Cloudmonster, Cloudrunner, Cloudsurfer, Cloud X, and Cloudtilt are models within it, not separate brands.

Why the Prices You See Make No Sense
On sells its shoes for roughly 140 to 190 US dollars at retail worldwide. Hold that number in your head, because it is the fastest fake detector available to you.
At the bottom of the local market, listings appear at prices that work out to a few dollars a pair. No supply chain, no clearance, and no thrift bale gets a current-model Swiss running shoe to that number. Those are counterfeits, and On is heavily counterfeited because the CloudTec sole is visually distinctive and easy to mould badly.
You will also see stock described as factory auctioned, usually with a promise that the barcode scans. Genuine surplus does exist in footwear, but that specific phrase is more commonly attached to unauthorised factory overruns, and a barcode is trivial to copy.

How to Check a Real Pair
The CloudTec pods are the tell. On genuine shoes the hollow cloud elements are cleanly moulded with sharp, even edges and consistent spacing, and they compress with a distinct firm collapse underfoot. Counterfeits get the shape roughly right but the edges are rounded and soft, spacing drifts, and the pods feel spongy rather than springy.
Check the Speedboard as well. On builds a shaped plate through the midsole that transfers your landing into push off, and it gives genuine pairs a stiff, snappy feel through the middle of the shoe. Fakes are floppy when you flex them.

On Cloud Sizing
On runs slightly long and noticeably narrow, particularly through the midfoot on the Cloud 5. If you have a wide foot, this is a brand to size carefully rather than assume.
We list US, UK, EU, and CM on every listing. The CM measurement is the one to trust. Measure your foot heel to longest toe while standing, in the evening when your feet are at their largest, add around half a centimetre, and order to that. Send us your measurement and we will confirm the size before anything ships.
Worth noting that several models use a speed lacing system rather than standard laces, which changes how the fit adjusts across the top of the foot. Tell us if you would rather have traditional laces and we will point you to the models that use them.
