Where Zara chases trends on a two week cycle, Massimo Dutti works on longer seasons with better raw materials: nappa and suede leather, merino wool, Egyptian and Supima cottons, and construction meant to survive more than one summer.
That is the whole proposition. It is not a luxury house, and it does not price like one. It is what you buy when Zara quality has stopped being enough but designer money is not the answer either.
Understanding this also explains the prices you see quoted elsewhere. When a local dropshipper lists a Massimo Dutti jacket in the high tens of thousands of rupees, that is not what the brand charges. That is an Amazon third-party listing with a courier bill and a margin stacked on top.

Leather Jackets and Outerwear
Leather is the category Massimo Dutti is genuinely known for. The nappa leather jackets, the suede blousons, the biker cuts in soft lambskin. These are full grain and lambskin hides rather than bonded or coated leather, which is why they soften into shape instead of cracking.
The outerwear range also covers wool blend overcoats, quilted jackets, and the lighter layers that actually suit our winters rather than a European one.
Shirts
Massimo Dutti men's shirts are where the fabric spend shows most clearly. Egyptian cotton poplins, textured Oxfords, linen and linen blends for heat, and the slim fit and regular fit cuts across most of them.
The tailoring is Spanish, so expect a closer fit through the chest and a slightly shorter body than a British or American shirt of the same nominal size.

Massimo Dutti Sizing: European Throughout
Sizing is European across the board and it catches people out in a few predictable places.
Shirts are often labelled by collar measurement in centimetres rather than S, M, L. A 39 or 40 is roughly a medium, a 41 or 42 is roughly a large. If you see a two digit number where you expected a letter, that is what it means.
Trousers use European waist numbers, not inches. A 42 is roughly a 33 inch waist and a 44 is roughly a 34. Ordering by the number assuming inches will get you something far too large.
Shoes are EU sized, so a 42 is roughly a UK 8 and a US 9.
The cut overall is Spanish and tailored, closer to the body than American brands but more generous than Zara through the shoulder.
